Ergonomic Assessments
This assessment ensures optimal ergonomic workstation set up, encourages safe work postures and work practices. This assessment ensures an optimal match between employees, their work and the equipment they use. Ergonomic Assessments help to promote employee well-being, increase efficiency, can assist with the management of an injury and or decrease the risk of injuries, can reduce claims and boost productivity by empowering employees to adopt an ergonomic ethos for the long term. Manual Handling Training
With over a third of workplace injuries associated with manual tasks, we guide employees through best practice for lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling or holding a load, object or person. To ensure our education helps to protect an employee’s fitness for work we tailor training to cover duties specific to each workplace.
Job Profile / Job Task Analysis
A thorough Job Profile / Job Task Analysis is the cornerstone to a range of workplace injury prevention and management strategies, providing critical information for recruitment, performance management, rehabilitation and vocational redirection. This assessment primarily outlines the key tasks and their critical physical, environmental, cognitive and psychological demands; equipment (PPE PPE ), and can also include suggested duties for return to work programs.
Initial & Early Rehabilitation Assessment
This comprehensive assessment includes seeking information of the history of injury, current medical situation, education and employment history, current job details including duties, identification of any psychosocial issues or return to work risks. A RTW goal and tailored plan is then developed to address the worker's rehabilitation needs. This also includes collaboration with other parties, including liaison with the treating practitioners and / or arranging GP case conferences to assist with developing a plan to facilitate a return to work.
Worksite Assessments
This is a specialised on-site assessment of the worker’s pre-injury duties and/or potential suitable duties with the same or different employer, which assists with the design of return to work programs that are matched to the worker’s functional capacity. This can also include the identification of equipment to support the worker to return to work.
Case Management & RTW Services
This will guide the injured worker through each stage of the RTW process. This includes an initial assessment and pro-active management and monitoring of the injured worker on a RTW program to ensure all goals are achieved. Embrace ensures appropriate services are engaged to support the injured worker with their functional recovery.
RTW services may include case conferences to identify and address barriers to recovery, and to promote collaborative problem solving; tailoring a RTW program which is developed in consultation with key parties, monitoring and upgrading the RTW program when appropriate, and supporting the injured worker to return to their pre-injury duties or newly determined duties.
This will include timely and regular contact with all parties (employee, supervisor, referrer, treating practitioners, allied health team) throughout the duration of the case, which includes regular updates and progress reports to keep all parties informed.
Vocational Assessment
This assessment is required when an injured person is unable or unlikely to return to their pre-injury employment, to identify suitable alternate vocational options. The assessment takes into account the individual's functional and work capacity, identifies transferable skills and can include an assessment of labour market information. A comprehensive report outlines the person's vocational options, potential retraining needs and a labour market analysis if appropriate.
Home Assessment
This assessment can assist to maximise an individual’s capacity to function independently with day-to-day living, within their own home. This service can assist injured workers to remain functional in the home or can be undertaken as a specialised service for elderly individuals, those discharged from hospital or people living with chronic conditions.
Home Assessments can include assessing the individual's function, independence and accessibility of their home. A comprehensive report can be provided including recommendations for aids, appliances or home modifications. If required, support can be provided to facilitate, purchase, arrange installation and conduct a review of the home to ensure modifications are implemented correctly. The aim of this assessment is to maximise client satisfaction, independence and safety as a result of the intervention within the home.
